Saturday Morning Thankfulness

Both my husband and I have been attempting to limit our time in front of any sort of news these last fews months, as we felt it was adding to stress in our family. This morning as I scrolled through this weeks news, getting bits of information here and there, I couldn’t help but to feel excited. What an amazing time in history to be alive! I started thinking about the time in history when Jesus was born. There were corrupt and aggressive leaders ruling both locally in the church, as well as in the Roman empire. Tensions were high, and in the middle of stress and anxiety came the birth of the Prince of Peace right when hope was needed most. Here we sit about two millennials later watching history repeat itself with a world full of corrupt leadership, and people desperate for hope. I can’t help but to be thankful to have been hand selected to be alive at this time in history. God chose me, God chose you! We get to continue the mission of Jesus to spread a message of hope in such a time as time as this! What an honour! Instead of being full of anxiety and fear, take some time this weekend to offer thankfulness and praise to our Sovereign God, and his son, the Prince of Peace. One hundred years ago were not for you to be here, one thousand years ago were not meant for you. Right now is where he chose you to exist. Oh what joy to know he has strategically placed you in this time of history as he moves nations and advances his kingdom.

1 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
    Serve the Lord with gladness!
    Come into his presence with singing!

Know that the Lord, he is God!
    It is he who made us, and we are his;
    we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
    and his courts with praise!
    Give thanks to him; bless his name!

For the Lord is good;
    his steadfast love endures forever,
    and his faithfulness to all generations.

Psalm 100 ESV

Enjoy your weekend!

love,

S
